Pelion is considered one of the most beautiful mountains in Greece and is a popular tourist attraction throughout the year. Hiking trails and stone paths give access to springs, coves and numerous beaches, set among lusciously green slopes. The mountain slopes are covered by lbeech forests and apple orchards and chestnut are abundand in the middle altitudes. The remains of the old paths network on Central Pelion is still so dense on that one can walk for months and still discover 'new' routes.
