Due fratelli, una montagna fatale

Nel giugno 1970 i fratelli Messner raggiunsero la vetta del Nanga Parbat, uno dei quattordici 8.000 della Terra, dopo un’estenuante salita del versante Rupal. Con Günther debilitato dal mal di montagna, Reinhold, allora 25enne, guidò la discesa lungo il versante Diamir. Ma Günther durante la disperata fuga verso il basso scomparve travolto da una valanga. Reinhold lo cercò senza successo, fino allo stremo delle forze; sei giorni all’addiaccio, senza mangiare e con due bivacchi in altissima quota. Venne poi ingiustamente accusato di avere abbandonato il fratello. 

A distanza di quarant’anni, il film ripercorre in modo avvincente, quella drammatica vicenda che vede come interprete uno dei più grandi alpinisti di tutti i tempi.
