Peter Habeler

Nato nel 1942 a Zillertal nel Tirolo austriaco, ha iniziato la sua carriera di alpinista estremo nel 1969 con Reinhold Messner, con il quale nel 1978 ha raggiunto l’Everest senza ossigeno. Ha scalato il Cho Oyu, il Nanga Parbat, il Kangchenjunga e il Gasherbrum I ed è stato fra i primi scopritori delle grandi pareti di Yosemite. Guida alpina, dirige la Peter Habeler Ski and Mountaineering School a Mayrhofen in Austria.
